Ukraine strengthens border defense with Belarus

The State Border Guard Service reports.

"The State Border Guard Service is constantly working to provide units that defend and protect the Ukrainian-Belarusian border," the statement reads.

In winter, service conditions are more difficult and require additional resources. The Ukrainian border guards have prepared stocks of coal, firewood, insulation of positions and dugouts, as well as water supply in advance.

"There is also ongoing work to strengthen the state border with Belarus and to equip the places where personnel are deployed for service," the statement added.

• The threat of a repeat invasion from the territory of Belarus is currently low, as fortifications and firing points have been built on the Ukrainian border.
