General Staff report: Defense forces repelled Russian attacks in three directions

Ukraine's General Staff reports.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a military presence in the border areas, conduct active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas, and increase the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the Russian troops did not carry out any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled a Russian attack near Pervomaiske, Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Marinka, Donetsk region, where they made 13 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukrainian troops from their positions over the past day.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled a hostile attack near Rivne in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian army tried to regain the lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, but had no success.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue counter-battery combat, destroying warehouses and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Russian army carried out 2 missile and 57 air strikes on the Ukrainian territory

Yesterday, on September 27, Russia attacked Ukraine once again, using 5 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs, 3 of which were destroyed by the Air Force.

There were 26 combat clashes over the past day.

In total, Russia launched 2 missile and 57 air strikes, fired over 50 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian objects in Ukraine. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings, a civilian hospital, 2 civilian enterprises and other infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Air strikes targeted 1 locality in Chernihiv region; 2 in Kharkiv region; 4 in Luhansk region; 14 in Donetsk region; 1 in Zaporizhzhia region; and 3 settlements in Kherson region.

Over 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russia's control center and S-300 air defense system

Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces carried out 7 strikes on the areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration. Also, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 2 reconnaissance UAVs of operational and tactical level.

Missile troops struck a control center, an S-300 air defense missile system and 6 Russian artillery units.

• On September 23, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that the Ukrainian military had broken through the Russian army's defenses near Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

• Analysts at the Institute of War Studies suggest that the Defense Forces likely made a breakthrough on the Robotyne - Verbove line in Zaporizhzhia.
