Ukraine's Armed Forces need to reach Sea of Azov, sever Russian land corridor from Crimea - General Skrzypczak
Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak believes that Zaporizhzhia-Melitopol and Zaporizhzhia-Berdiansk are the optimal directions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive
The former commander of Poland's Ground Forces said this on Espreso TV.
“It is necessary to cut off Russia from the land connection with Crimea with an offensive. This is very important. I believe that it should be done. I even said that it should be done in August - September, when the Russian army was at its weakest. Now the Russian army is not weak, you must keep in mind that the Russians are building up their defenses in the Zaporizhzhia direction, west of Donetsk. They are accumulating their troops north of Melitopol,” Skrzypczak said.
According to the general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy the Russian forces with the help of HIMARS systems and artillery, but the Russians are gathering even more troops.
“You should be very prudent and know when to strike. It is necessary to destroy the Russian troops and to reach the Sea of Azov in order to cut the land corridor between Russia and Crimea. And then you can think about encircling the troops between the Kakhovka Reservoir and Kherson - defeat them there, and approach the Crimea,” Skrzypczak explained.
