Ukraine's Armed Forces hit 8 Russian military positions, 2 control points

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on Facebook. 

It is also noted that on December 5, the Aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 5 strikes on the concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

In addition, the General Staff notes that due to the Russian forces' significant losses in the Kherson region, cases of desertion are noted.

• The Institute for the Study of War came to the conclusion that due to the long assault on Bakhmut, Russia's equipment is being exhausted, and the army is degrading.

• The Russian army wants to capture Bakhmut in the Donetsk region not because it is of strategic importance, but because there is a certain symbolism in it.

• On December 5, Yurii Fedorenko, the commander of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade, a member of the Kyiv City Council, and an adviser to the Defense Committee, said that Svatove would be liberated from the occupying Russian forces.
