Ukraine’s air defense destroys 11 of 16 Shaheds in sky over Ukraine on night of March 18
During the attack on the night of March 18, the Russian occupation forces launched a total of 16 Shahed-136/131 attack drones at Ukraine
This was reported by the headquarters of the AFU Air Force.
Of these, 11 ‘kamikaze’ drones were shot down by air defense forces in the central, western and eastern regions of Ukraine.
The Air Force noted that the Russian army attacked from two directions – from the east coast of the Azov Sea and from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
At about 9 p.m. on March 17, 2023, the invading Russian forces attacked Ukraine using Iranian-made Shahed 136/131 ‘kamikaze’ drones.
The forces and means of the Center, East and West Air Commands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 11 attack UAVs in the central, western and eastern regions, respectively.

On the evening of March 17, the Russian forces launched Shahed attack drones into the Kyiv region, but Ukrainian air defense was operating and destroyed all air targets.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, 3 drones were shot down, but 2 more hit a critical infrastructure facility.
