Ukraine's accession to NATO will help stop Putin's aggression - Oleksandr Merezhko
Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Merezhko believes that Ukraine's accession to NATO can stop the Russian Federation's military aggression
He shared his opinion with Espreso TV.
"Submitting an application to join NATO was a long-awaited surprise for Ukraine. Just yesterday we spoke with French colleagues and I raised the issue of Ukraine joining the Alliance as soon as possible. We have been talking about this with our European colleagues for a long time," Merezhko said.
Merezhko believes that Ukraine's accession to NATO will be able to stop Putin's military aggression.
"I believe that the only security guarantee for Ukraine is to join the Alliance. If it succeeds, then we will be able to stop Putin's military aggression in Ukraine. Putin is very afraid of NATO. And when Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO, he could not do anything. Therefore, I am convinced that Ukraine should join NATO and become part of the European security system," he added.
