Ukraine works on introducing sectoral sanctions against Russia – Yulia Svyrydenko
An independent working international experts group on sanctions against Russia is working on recommendations for expanding sanctions against entire sectors of the Russian economy
This was announced during a visit to Washington by First Deputy Prime Minister and Ukrainian Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukrinform writes.
"The Yermak-McFaul Expert Group operates in Ukraine, which considers sanctions that should be imposed by partners," the Minister of Economy noted.
According to her, this list includes restrictions against Russia in the IT sector, support for sanctions against nuclear energy, gold sales and the banking sector, in particular, the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the FATF (a group of countries on combating financial crimes), as well as in the fields of mining and metallurgy.
Sviridenko also confirmed that expanding sanctions against Russia is one of the topics of discussion during her meetings in Washington.
