Ukraine will become a NATO member, the Alliance's position has not changed - Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference following the first day of the summit in Brussels that above all, it is necessary to ensure Ukraine's victory as an independent and sovereign state
He said this during the broadcast of the press conference on Espreso.
"NATO's position on Ukraine's membership has not changed - Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance. This has been reaffirmed again and again at a number of NATO summits. At the same time, we also recognize that in order to make an absolute promise in this regard, we must first ensure Ukraine's victory as an independent and sovereign state. That is why our partners and Allies have provided an unprecedented level of support. We will all continue to do so in the future. We are in constant contact with Ukraine, providing training for personnel and additional support to do whatever is necessary to ensure Ukraine's victory," said the NATO Secretary General.
Jens Stoltenberg noted that Ukraine's preservation of its sovereign and independent status will ensure its future membership in NATO.
