Russia's attack on Dnipro HPP causes UAH 140 million in damages to Ukraine's environment

The environmental damage caused by the Russian missile attack on Dnipro hydroelectric power station on March 22 amounts to over UAH 140 million

Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Ruslan Strilets, shared the information on the United News telethon.

According to him, environmental inspectors recorded soil contamination and a stain of oil products weighing about 0.5 tons. However, the situation has now stabilized. No excess of oil products has been recorded at any sampling point.

Experts from the State Environmental Inspectorate and the State Water Agency continue to monitor the state of water resources in the Dnipro River below the Dnipro HPP dam on a daily basis.

The Minister noted that over 600,000 tons of destruction waste has already been accumulated throughout Ukraine.
