Ukraine to produce weapons in cooperation with 6 NATO countries
Ukraine has concluded agreements with six NATO member countries for the joint production and development of heavy weapons and military equipment.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukroboronprom state concern, operating in various sectors of the defense industry of Ukraine.
"Ukraine is integrating into NATO's defense and industrial complex. Ukroboronprom will produce and develop heavy weapons and military equipment together with at least six member countries of the Alliance. Non-disclosure agreements have been signed with Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Denmark and several others,” the statement says.
The concern noted that they are already setting up production within the framework of the agreement.
"We are creating joint defense enterprises, building closed-cycle ammunition production lines, jointly producing armored vehicles and multiple-launch rocket systems, and jointly developing new high-tech weapons. We use both previously existing facilities and those that have been recently built in secure locations," Ukroboronprom reports.
Ukraine’s arms manufacturer also announced that it had established the production of 122 and 152 mm caliber ammunition and 120 mm caliber mines.
"Munitions have passed tests successfully and are manufactured using NATO technology. The production has been in operation for some time now. It is conducted at different facilities dispersed throughout the territories of Ukraine and partner countries. The ammunition produced by Ukroboronprom should reduce the dependence of Ukrainian artillery on supplies from abroad, especially since their stocks of projectiles and Soviet-caliber mines are gradually running out," the state concern explained.
