Ukraine takes steps to counter Russia's attempts to gain dominance in Black Sea - military expert Zgurets
Military expert Serhiy Zgurets believes that Ukraine is taking measures to counter Russia's attempts to dominate the Black Sea
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Ukraine is taking measures aimed at countering Russia's attempts to dominate the Black Sea and to control ships that can export grain from Ukrainian ports. This week we have already seen several such examples, but not all of them were confirmed visually, of Ukrainian drones attacking Russian warships," Zgurets said.
According to the expert, recently the Russian military leadership claimed that there was an attack on Russian warships of the 11260 project, which are modern, at a distance of 300 km from Sevastopol in the Black Sea.
"That is, far from the area where Ukraine has created a zone to prevent Russian ships from reaching our coast, using the potential of American Harpoon anti-ship missiles. Along our coast, this zone is measured by a distance of 170 kilometers," explained Zgurets.
The expert also added that Ukraine has relied on the use of new attack marine drones, which have a range of up to 800 km with a warhead of up to 300 kg.
"This indicates asymmetric actions of the Ukrainian side against Russia's attempts to move warships across the Black Sea. We expect that these measures will lead to the sinking of a number of Russian warships, especially those carrying Kalibr cruise missiles," Zgurets said.
