Ukraine reports 24 combat engagements in key frontline areas over past day

On Saturday, July 29, the Russian army continued its attempts to advance in key areas of the frontline, with 24 combat engagements taking place there

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 4 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, 6 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, more than 7 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army. 

Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed a UAV, an artillery system, and targeted an area where Russian personnel were accumulated 

Over the last day, Ukrainian aviation launched 5 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions. Also, Ukrainian defenders destroyed one reconnaissance UAV of operational and tactical level.

Over the day, missile and artillery units destroyed one artillery system in a firing position, one electronic warfare station, and targeted one area where enemy personnel were concentrated.

Russian army launches 5 missile strikes, 19 airstrikes against Ukraine overnight

During the day, Russia launched 5 missile strikes, 19 airstrikes, and about 30 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties, and residential buildings were damaged.

The General Staff emphasized that the threat of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

 
  • Russia's losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine have reached 245,220 soldiers. On July 28, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 6 armored vehicles and 11 artillery systems.
