Ukraine repels Russian attacks near 14 settlements; Russia defends in 5 directions

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared its latest report on December 2.

Over December 1, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near 4 settlements of the Luhansk region and 10 settlements of the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine.

The same day, Russian forces launched 5 missile attacks on the civilian infrastructure of the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. They launched 30 airstrikes on Ukrainian troops' positions and more than 35 MLRS attacks on settlements along the contact line.

The threat of Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure remains.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, northern Ukraine, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected. Russian and Belarusian units undergo training on Belarusian training grounds.

In the Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russia keeps its troops along the border in the Belgorod region. Russian troops shelled 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region. 

Russian troops are defending in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions. They shelled with tanks and artillery 3 settlements of the Kharkiv region, 4 of the Luhansk region and 2 of the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops have been focusing their main efforts on conducting offensive operations. They have shelled with tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery 16 settlements of the Donetsk region.

Russian troops are trying to gain a more favorable tactical position in the Avdiivka direction. They attacked 5 settlements of the Donetsk region with tanks and artillery of various types.

The Russian army is defending in the Novopavlivka direction. It shelled 8 settlements of the Donetsk region.

Russian troops are also defending in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Five settlements of the Zaporizhia region and 1 of the Dnipropetrovsk region came under enemy attack.

Russian troops are defending in the Kherson direction. Three settlements located on the right bank of the Dnipro River came under artillery fire. They continue shelling Kherson city and its suburbs

• On December 1, the Ukrainian Air Force and units of missile troops and artillery launched 20 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.
