Ukraine releases 52 people from Russian captivity as part of another exchange
On October 29, during the prisoner exchange, Ukraine returned home another 52 people, including Azov fighters, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, border guards and civilians
This was announced by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak on Telegram.
Among the freed Ukrainians are officers, medics, sergeants, and soldiers. 12 National Guardsmen were exchanged, including 2 Azov soldiers, 18 marines, 8 border guards, 9 Territorial Defense soldiers, three soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two civilians.
Defenders of Azovstal and Maripol are returning home. In particular, the head of the surgical department of the Mariupol military hospital was exchanged, who was at the plant, as well as a young military surgeon of the 65th military mobile hospital. In addition, a marine was released, whose wife also recently returned from Russian captivity. A volunteer soldier from Mariupol with the surname Moskva was also exchanged as well and a sailor who protected Zmiinyi Island, and some soldiers who were captured in the Chornobyl zone.
"We do not stop and continue to carry out the president's task of "returning all Ukrainians home". Thank you to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. We still have a lot of work to do, but we have an important result - our people are at home. We will return everyone," Andriy Yermak stressed.
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on Telegram that as part of the exchange, it was also possible to free those captured in Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, and Bucha.
The youngest released person recently turned 19, the oldest - 56. Some of the Ukrainians released from captivity have battle wounds or chronic diseases.
