The government site shared the update.

During the visit of Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to Kyiv on June 1, Ministers of Culture of Ukraine and Poland Oleksandr Tkachenko and Piotr Hlynsky signed a memorandum of cooperation.

"Poles around the world have declared their solidarity with our country and proved it by their actions. We are infinitely grateful to them for that. But our cooperation does not stop there, but only expands: we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of national memory. This formula for historical memory and future cooperation between our countries can be a way of sincere understanding without amnesia, but also without resentment and vengeance," said Oleksandr Tkachenko.

The document provides for cooperation of countries in the search, exhumation, burial, celebration, legalization, reconstruction and legal protection of places of honor and burial. They plan to set up a working group that will implement the agreements of both countries.

"The working group, which will include experts and representatives of relevant institutions, will be headed by Deputy Ministers of Culture of both countries. Implementation of the Memorandum will begin after three months after the abolition of martial law throughout Ukraine. The first task of the group will be to establish the procedure, competence and deadlines for submission of applications and consideration of cases in the field of national memory," the governmental portal said.
