Ukraine wins its first medal in track and field at the 2024 Paralympics

The Youth and Sports Committee of the Ukrainian parliament reported the information.
Vladyslav Bilyi became a silver medalist in the javelin throw in the F38 class with a result of 52.86 meters.
Another Ukrainian, Oleksandr Doroshenko, stopped one step short of the podium, taking fourth place.
This is Ukraine's fifth medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Ukraine's performance
After the 1st day of the Paralympics, Ukrainian Paralympians won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. The Ukrainian team ranks 17th in the medal standings.
Silver medals:
Anton Kol (100m backstroke, class S1), Iryna Poyda (200m freestyle, class S5)
Bronze medals:
Anna Hontar (swimming, 50 meters, freestyle, class S6), Oleksandr Komarov (swimming, 200 meters, freestyle, class S5).
- A total of 140 Ukrainian athletes will take part in the 2024 Paralympic Games, which will run in Paris until September 8. They will compete in 17 out of 22 sports, which is a record in the country's history.
