Ukraine offers treasure trove of development opportunities in coming decades - Duda

Polish President Andrzej Duda has said that Ukraine represents a treasure trove for European Union (EU) development over the coming decades and the Poles need it in the EU

He made the comments during the Congress 590 forum in Warsaw, Ukrinform reports.

"It's safe to say that Ukraine is a treasure trove for the next decades of development for our part of Europe... as well as for the entire EU," Duda said.

According to him, Ukraine has great economic and natural potential, and Poland needs "a strong, independent, sovereign Ukraine as part of Europe" to be strong.

The President of Poland noted that assistance to Ukraine, in particular military assistance, is now of paramount importance for his country. He added that Poles are well aware of what they are doing in support of Ukraine. They seek to be part not of the "Russian measure" but of the free world, European democracy, and the Euro-Atlantic community.

"Ukrainians are signing their accession to the free world with their own blood. The West cannot take this lightly," said the Polish president.

Andrzej Duda said that his country wants to develop together with Ukraine in Europe.

"We want to develop together (with Ukraine - Ed.) in our part of Europe and we want to build the best possible living conditions here together," he explained.
