He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.

Mamulashvili noted that Russia has not been able to assimilate in Georgia with its language. However, after almost 10 years of reforms, it still managed to seize political power in the country.

“And Ukraine will always have to be careful when carrying out any Russian narratives after the war,” he said.

He added that the transition to the state language plays an important role in separating from Russia.

“It is necessary and important to switch to the state language and minimize Russian influence, including language. Including religion, one of the subdivisions that have become Russia's propaganda. The processes that are taking place in Ukraine today are very important in terms of pro-Russian forces in religious circles,” the commander of the Georgian National Legion emphasized.

Mamulashvili also noted that the current situation in Georgia should be a lesson for both the country itself and Ukraine.

  • On May 11, it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the visa regime for Georgian citizens will cease to be valid from May 15, 2023. Air travel between the two countries will also resume. The EU called on Georgia not to allow Russian planes to enter its territory.

  • On May 15, Georgia allowed the first Russian airline to operate flights to the country. The next day, Georgian Airways received permission to operate regular flights to Moscow.

  • On May 20, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili announced a boycott of Georgian Airways, which has begun operating direct flights to Moscow.
