Ukraine needs 6 to 11 years to join EU — EU Ambassador to Austria Selmayr
Head of the European Commission Delegation to Austria Martin Selmayr says it will take at least 6 years for Ukraine to join the EU

He said this in an interview with the Kleine Zeitung.
"It took Austria six years, Spain eleven. Ukraine may be somewhere in between," Selmayr said when asked about the timeframe for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
According to him, thanks to the Association Agreement, Ukraine has already implemented 70% of EU legislation. However, he emphasized that Ukraine still has a lot to do, including regulating the independence of the judiciary and the effectiveness of governance.

MEP Andrius Kubilius said that Ukraine could become an EU member by 2030.
