Ukraine in talks on allowing more vessels to export grain - Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Infrastructure
Ukraine is in talks to allow more ships to take part in exporting grain, and seeking to allay existing fears among ship-owning companies
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem shared the statement on Espreso.
"As for the window of opportunity of 120 days - this agreement provides for the possibility of extension. As for the risks and problems that arise - the biggest problem now is for the insurance companies that have to insure these ships that will go from us and to us," he said .
Nayem reported that Ukraine is conducting negotiations in order for more ships to join the export of grain.
"We and our partners are currently negotiating around the world to allow ships to enter our territorial waters and to enter our ports, so many ship-owning companies are very wary of the possibility of transporting cargo," the deputy minister added.
He expressed hope that this will not stop the movement of goods from our ports.
"The possibility of their export is a success for global food security and a great basis for our economy, which needs foreign exchange earnings," Nayem concluded.
