Ukraine holds initiative in Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldier says
Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Terra aerial reconnaissance unit of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, says that despite heavy fighting, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to make successful advances in the Bakhmut direction
He shared the information on Espreso TV channel.
"We are very determined. All the brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that are in the Bakhmut direction are very serious about achieving results. However, the enemy is not going to retreat either. The Russians are spending human resources and equipment to hold their positions around Bakhmut. That is why every meter is being fought for. Very heavy fighting. When the Russians bring fresh infantry to the Bakhmut direction, they know that 90% of them will not come out of there intact," Volokhov said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman also added that the Ukrainian army advances in the Bakhmut direction.
"The dynamics of the fighting in the Bakhmut direction remains in our favor. We are doing well. Yes, we are advancing slowly, but the dynamics are positive. And now there is no reason to say that something can change this dynamic. Day by day, we are advancing and will certainly reach the tactical points we have set for ourselves. Especially important are the heights around Bakhmut, because it is from there that fire control over the enemy's logistics routes begins," he added.
