Ukraine has survived, becomes global model of struggle for freedom and democracy – Yatsenyuk
Politician and former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has expressed his hope that 2023 will be the year of victory for Ukraine, the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian democracy
He said this on Espreso TV.
“I would not want us to have versions of history. History should be guided solely by facts. And the fact is that Russia committed military aggression against Ukraine. The first stage of this aggression took place on February 20, 2014, and this fact is legally recognized in the decision of the Ukrainian parliament in 2015 and in UN decisions. And most importantly, this fact is confirmed by the thousands of our people and military who have died defending our country since 2014,” the politician pointed out.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that the Ukrainian army and people were preparing for 2022 to meet this enemy at the next, most terrible stage of the war, and this stage of 2022 is the largest that has not been seen since World War II.
“First of all, Ukraine has resisted. Second, Ukraine kicked the so-called second army of the world in the teeth. Third, Ukraine woke up the whole West. Fourth, Ukraine has become different, it has become stronger. Fifth, Ukraine has become a model of the struggle for freedom and democracy in the world. Sixth, it was a great trauma and drama, but Ukrainians gathered their strength and survived this year. And not just withstood, but have the strength to win. Therefore, this is a dramatic and historic year for Ukraine and the whole world. I want the next year to become a year of victory for Ukraine, the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian democracy,” Yatsenyuk emphasized.
