"Ukraine has new evidence that people were tortured, then buried": Zelenskyy comments on events in Izyum
On September 17, in Izyum, Kharkiv region, Ukraine has continued exhumation work at the mass grave site, and conducted examinations on the corpses.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reports in an evening address.
He also reported that police received new evidence of torture on people buried in Izyum. More than ten torture chambers were found in the liberated areas of Kharkiv region in various cities and towns.
"When Russian occupiers were fleeing, they also threw devices for torture. Even at the ordinary railway station in Kozacha Lopan, police found rooms for torture, police found instruments for electric torture. This is just a railway station!" - the president says.
He also assured that the identities of all Russian occupiers who tortured people will be established, after which they will answer for this in the courtroom.
"That's what the Nazis did. That's what Russians do. And they will answer in the same way - both on the battlefield and in the courtrooms. Ukraine will establish the identities of all those who tortured, who abused, who brought this atrocity from Russia to Ukrainian land." - he said.
