This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The MFA stated that the ambassadors of Burundi, Guinea, and Chad to Russia — Joseph Nkurunziza, Nyankoye Haba, and Beshir Mahamoud, respectively — made an unauthorized visit to Crimea, which remains temporarily occupied by Russia.

The Ministry emphasized that the visit violates international law, including UN General Assembly resolutions such as Resolution 68/262 on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian legislation.

“Such actions run counter to the universally recognized principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and undermine the efforts of the international community aimed at ending Russian aggression and restoring comprehensive, just, and lasting peace. The Russian Federation continues to exploit foreign diplomats for propaganda purposes and tries to create a false impression of "recognition" of its illegal occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula,” the statement said.

The MFA urged foreign diplomats to follow international law, respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, and avoid any actions that could be seen as directly or indirectly supporting the crimes of the aggressor state.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expects that the respective foreign governments will duly assess the conduct of their representatives, whose reckless actions harm bilateral relations with Ukraine and damage the reputation of their own states in the international arena. Ukraine reserves the right to take appropriate political and diplomatic measures in response to these unfriendly acts and will initiate the inclusion of the aforementioned individuals in relevant sanctions lists,” the MFA added.

  • Earlier, Nicaragua hosted a Russian delegation from occupied Crimea. Ukraine’s MFA responded by sending a formal note of protest to the Nicaraguan government.
