Ukraine cannot launch counteroffensive yet – Zelenskyy in interview with The Yomiuri Shimbun

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine cannot launch its counteroffensive until it has accumulated enough weapons and ammunition from its allies

Ukraine needs additional military support from its allies to continue the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories – Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with the Japanese edition of The Yomiuri Shimbun.

"We are waiting for ammunition to arrive from our partner countries. Without tanks, guns and HIMARS, we cannot send our brave soldiers to the front," Zelenskyy said.

According to the president, the situation in eastern Ukraine is currently difficult due to the lack of ammunition – Russian troops spend about three times more ammunition than Ukrainian defenders every day. Zelenskyy called on partners to increase military support for Ukraine.

"If you have political will, you can find a way to help us. We are at war and cannot wait," the president emphasized.
