
Ukraine approves over 350 new weapons, military equipment for army use since start of year
In the first three months of 2025, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense authorized more than 350 new models of weapons and military equipment for use in the army
The Ministry of Defense reported the information.
Ukrainian arms manufacturers have significantly increased production of new types of weapons and military equipment. This year, 87% of the codified and approved samples were made by domestic producers. In comparison, the Ministry of Defense reported that last year, the percentage was lower, with less than half of over 100 samples being of Ukrainian production.
In 2025, the majority of codified systems were unmanned aerial systems, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, automotive equipment, engineering tools, and ground robotic systems. Additionally, nearly 20 models of drones approved for use in the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fiber-optic controlled.
“The analysis of the Russian-Ukrainian war shows that innovative tools are playing an increasingly important role on the battlefield. That is why it is crucial to accelerate the technological modernization of our army. Effective cooperation between Ukrainian weapons manufacturers and the military, timely supply of modern weapons to Ukrainian soldiers will expand the capabilities of our army,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valeriy Churkin.
