Uk architects to present General development plan for Kharkiv to UN

At the 83rd session of the Committee of the UN European Commission on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management, a separate panel will be dedicated to the restoration of Kharkiv.

This is reported by the Kharkiv City Council reports.

According to Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor, the committee will present the General Development Plan of the city of Kharkiv, which is being worked on by British architects headed by Norman Foster. The latter will also take part in the meeting.

"In addition, we have involved a group of Ukrainian and Kharkiv architects. The General Plan will clearly outline, first of all, a new approach to the economy of the city of Kharkiv. We will create industrial parks, IT clusters in order for Kharkiv to be a self-sufficient, strong and economically independent city, the way it was before the war," Ihor Terekhov said on TV marathon live on air.

The Master Plan will feature residential development, new commercial and administrative buildings.

The 83rd session of the Committee of the UN European Commission on Urban Development, Town Planning, Housing and Land Management will be held from October 3 to 7 in San Marino. This is the second part of the committee meeting. The first was held in Geneva, and then, after the speech of Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor, Lord Norman Foster expressed his desire to support Kharkiv and jointly create a new General Plan for the city.
