British Intelligence analyzes consequences of UAV attack on Russian Kushchevskaya airfield

The recent Ukrainian UAV attack on the Kushchevskaya airfield in the Kuban will force the Russian Federation to disperse its fighters and redeploy air defense assets to close gaps

This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that a number of Russian fighters are deployed at the Kushchevskaya airfield, including SU-34 and Su-35S. They are used daily to strike at Ukrainian frontline positions, including the intensive use of glide bombs.

"Open source videos show several glide bomb kits destroyed in a storage location at the airfield," the report said.

Russian fighters typically conduct 100 to 150 combat sorties a day from the Kushchevskaya airfield and a number of other airbases. A significant number of them launch munitions along the entire front line, while Russia is trying to achieve a breakthrough solely through firepower.

"Ukraine's ability to disrupt Russian tactical air power, particularly glide bomb usage, is key to the wider defense of the frontlines. This successful strike is likely to force further Russian dispersal of fighters as well as reallocation of air defense assets to plug gaps," the intelligence said.
