"Truce" for Christmas is Putin's attempt to show new Russian concept of "holy war" - Serhiy Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, CEO of the Defense Express military expert group believes that Putin conveys through the Russian media to the domestic audience the ideological and religious meanings of warfare
He told about this on Espreso TV channel.
Serhiy Zgurets commented on Putin's introduction of a ceasefire in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7.
"We understand that the "truce" before Christmas is an attempt at the Russian new information concept. They are waging a "holy war" in the ideological and religious sense, and it is aimed at the domestic audience of Russia. Obviously, Russia is unlikely to make any real truce. I think that in some areas there will be an intensification of hostilities. Thus, the issue of truce is not the component that will now influence the course of actions on the battlefield. Moreover, to talk about a truce, it was necessary to really prepare for it, and not to announce it on Christmas Eve, and then actively inflate it through the Russian media, first of all on its territory," the military analyst said.
