Time for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia has not yet come - Italian Defense Minister
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said that the war in Ukraine should end not only with military activities, but the time for peace talks with Russia has not yet come
He said this in an interview with Quotidiano Nazionale.
Crosetto admitted that attention to Russia's war against Ukraine has decreased since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas, but not at the political level, only at the media level.
He emphasized that despite everything, the support for Kyiv from the West and the EU countries remains unchanged.
"Ukraine is fighting to protect its sovereignty and respect for international law, not just its freedom. Obviously, a lasting peace cannot be based on military action alone. A political truce is needed. The time has not yet come, but Spes ultima Dea ("Hope is the last goddess", lat., - ed.)...", the Italian Defense Minister said.
