"There is no one to hide the dead, the survivors die without medicine": Deputy Mayor of Izyum demands humanitarian corridors from Kharkiv and Slovyansk
Residents of Izyum in the Kharkiv region are dying from diseases and lack of treatment, and it is impossible to take people out due to Russian shelling
This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Izyum Volodymyr Matsokin.
"The city of Izyum has been under siege for two weeks. Without water, without electricity, heat, food, medicine, communications. The situation is no better than Mariupol. We receive information that the survivors under shelling are dying from diseases and lack of medicine. No one can bury the dead. Medical assistance is not provided", he said.
It is impossible to deliver humanitarian aid or take people out of the city, because the invaders are shelling the road to Slovyansk and control the way from Kharkiv. The bridges are torn down, the raisins are cut in half and have no message. The people of the city are on the edge.
"Izyum urgently needs humanitarian corridors on both sides (from Kharkiv and from Slovyansk) for the delivery of humanitarian goods. Izyum needs green corridors on both sides for the evacuation of citizens", Volodymyr Matsokin emphasized.
The deputy mayor urged those involved in solving this issue to find a way out.
"This question is about the future of our community!", he added.
