The time is now: European Council President says it is necessary to provide Ukraine with tanks immediately
President of the European Council Charles Michel calls for supplying tanks to Ukraine and emphasises that it should be done as soon as possible

He said this on Wednesday at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
"The time is now. Ukraine needs more military equipment. I firmly support the delivery of tanks," Michel said.
He noted that the European Union will help Ukraine "as long as it takes".
"We will continue to help Ukraine militarily, and we will increase the capacity of the European Peace Fund," promised the European Council President.

- Ukraine will receive 14 units of British Challenger 2 tanks, about 300 units of armoured vehicles of various types, artillery and high-precision missiles.
- Poland is ready to provide Ukraine with 14 Leopard tanks and hopes that other NATO countries will follow suit and manage to assemble at least an armoured brigade.
- On January 17, Finland also announced its readiness to participate in a coalition of countries that will provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks.
