Taiwanese volunteer fighter Jonathan Tseng is killed in Luhansk region
25-year-old Jonathan Tseng, a volunteer fighter from Taiwan, was killed while performing a combat mission in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine
This was announced on the Facebook page of the Ukraine+Taiwan Forum non-governmental organization.
“Our Taiwanese comrade, Jonathan Tseng, was killed while on a combat mission in the Luhansk direction. He just turned 25. The brother of Ukraine served as part of the 49th Karpatska Sich Detached Rifle Battalion,” the message states.
Ukrainian lawmaker Mykola Kniazhytskyi, who recently visited Taiwan, also wrote about the sad news.
“I am returning from Taiwan. And here they write about Ukraine. A volunteer from Taiwan, a 25-year-old guy, who joined the Ukrainian army, was wounded and died from blood loss during a battle with the Russian army in the Luhansk region,” Kniazhytskyi said.
The president of the Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine public organization, Artur Kharytonov, promised to do everything possible “so that the memory of Jonathan remains on the pages of Ukrainian history.”
“He has relatives left. Our pain is now theirs. Our war is also theirs. At the same time. There is no representation of Taiwan in Ukraine. Jonathan loved Ukraine and was a Taiwanese patriot. Therefore, no one will allow his body to fall to the enemies of Taiwan. I think the conclusions here are obvious. As well as what we as the Ukrainian people have to do to honor Jonathan, our brother,” he added.

Recently Mykola Kniazhytskyi shared his impressions of his stay in Taiwan. In particular, he noted that the Taiwanese support the Ukrainians, and consider Russian aggression an authoritarian attack on democracy. For them, democracy is one of the greatest values.
