Taiwan has learned lessons from war in Ukraine to repel China's attack in case of aggression - Ambassador Hsiao
Taiwan has learned lessons from Russia's war against Ukraine that will help it deter any Chinese attack or defend itself in the event of an invasion
This was stated by Taiwan's representative to the United States, Bi-khim Hsiao, in an interview with the Associated Press.
"Everything we’re doing now is to prevent the pain and suffering of the tragedy of Ukraine from being repeated in our scenario in Taiwan," she emphasized.
According to Hsiao, one of the lessons learned from Russia's war against Ukraine is the training of reservists. In particular, more needs to be done to prepare as many military reservists and civilians as possible for the national struggle.
"So ultimately, we seek to deter the use of military force. But in a worst-case scenario, we understand that we have to be better prepared," she added.
Taiwan’s representative in Washington summarized that, observing the actions of the Ukrainians, Taiwan also realizes that it needs to replenish its stocks of Javelins, Stingers, HIMARS and other small, mobile weapons systems.

Earlier, China's military said it had conducted its second military exercise around Taiwan in a month. On January 8, 28 of their aircraft flew into Taiwan's air defense zone. China considers democratically governed Taiwan to be its own territory and is increasing military, political, and economic pressure to assert these claims.
