Sweden, Baltics ask Brussels for clarification on helping Ukraine join EU

This was stated in a post by the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine on social media platform X.  

The statement came after Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that Hungary would block Ukraine's EU membership.  

"Hungary should not slow down Ukraine's EU membership negotiations. Our Minister for EU Affairs and her colleagues from the Nordic-Baltic countries have asked the European Commission for concrete proposals to advance Ukraine's accession process," the statement reads.

• Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that his country will block progress in Ukraine's EU accession talks until the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia, which were taken away in 2015, are restored.
