Strong economic ties, competition will stop China from going to war with the US - political scientist
Yevhen Magda, director of the Institute of World Politics, has said that China will not enter into an armed conflict with the US due to strong economic ties and competition.
The expert shared the details with Espreso.
"It is difficult to imagine that China would enter into an armed conflict with the state with which it has the strongest economic relations. China and the USA are actively competing economically. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine that these two states will go to war," Magda said.
The political scientist added that the United States also does not show an unequivocal readiness for war with China.
"First of all, we see the political superstructure of the conflict over Taiwan between the United States and China. At the same time, Beijing clearly analyzed the situation that arose in the world economy after the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. In turn, the United States also demonstrates that it is not ready to escalate. Even the usual diplomatic steps such as recalling the ambassador did not take place in this situation," Yevhen Magda noted.
