State department reaffirms U.S. backing for Ukraine’s Air Defense
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump supports giving Ukraine the air defense systems it needs to fight off large-scale Russian attacks
This was stated by US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce during a briefing, European Pravda reported the information.
Bruce said the US is "Ukraine’s biggest supporter and defender."
"And we want them to have air defense systems. We want them to be able to stop missiles coming their way," she said.
According to Bruce, the issue is now being discussed with "our European partners who have such systems and could send them to Ukraine."
"There are several different players involved in this process, and the State Department isn’t directly involved. It’s about ammunition, procurement, and the rest," Bruce added.
She stressed that the US will do everything it can — "there’s no doubt about that."
"Our goal is to make sure this war ends, and we’re staying focused on that," Bruce concluded.
- On the night of Wednesday, June 11, the occupying Russian army launched 85 drones across Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 49 Russian targets.
