Starlink provides connection for critical infrastructure in Kyiv
One of the main tasks for Kyiv in case of a blackout is the ability to communicate not only with residents but critical infrastructure with each other.
Dmytro Bilotserkovets, the adviser to the mayor of Kyiv, stated this on Espreso TV channel.
"I know several districts that are actively discussing uninterrupted Internet. For example, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomyanskyi. They are discussing with providers that fiber-optic Internet should work in regular mode all the time. If there is an alternative supply of Wi-Fi routers, then it will be possible to get Internet in shelters and heating points," he said.
According to Bilotserkovets, work on this is ongoing.
"We understand that one of the main tasks in case of a blackout for a certain period of time is the ability to communicate not only with Kyiv citizens but with critical infrastructure. We are currently providing critical infrastructure with Starlink and heating points with optical fiber," Klychko's adviser concluded.
