Spain plans to send four additional Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles confirmed that Ukraine will receive four more Leopard 2 tanks in addition to the six promised

This is reported by El Espanol.

According to Robles, the first six tanks will be delivered to Ukraine in the "near future.”  Currently, those Leopard 2s promised to Ukraine are still being replenished at the defense industry facilities in Seville.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez spoke about the possibility of increasing the number of Leopards from six to ten during his visit to Kyiv in February. The decision was made after they discovered additional equipment in good enough condition in the warehouses.

Also, the head of the Spanish Ministry of Defense announced the delivery of a new batch of TOA M113 armored personnel carriers - so-called armored tracked vehicles specialized in transporting combat units.

It was also reported that the first ten Ukrainian Leopard 2 A4 battle tanks crews completed four weeks of training at the National Training Center in Zaragoza, Spain.

More than 850 servicemen have received training within the framework of the European Union's aid mission in Spain under the leadership of the Training Coordination Center in Toledo.
