Some NATO countries are so afraid of Russia that they are not ready to see Ukraine in alliance – Zelenskyy
Ukraine is waiting for signals from NATO regarding membership. However, some NATO member states are so afraid of Russia that they do not want to see Ukraine in the Alliance
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
"I believe that some NATO countries are so afraid of Russia that they don't want to admit Ukraine into the alliance. If we are not acknowledged and given a signal in Vilnius, I believe there is no point for Ukraine to be at this summit," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that Ukraine does not want to be in NATO during the war, but seeks to join after the victory. He also emphasized that Ukraine expects a strong signal from the Alliance.
"How many lives of Ukrainians are worth the phrase 'Ukraine will be in NATO after this war, after it's safe?", he added.
