Situation in Bakhmut sector is very dynamic, artillery duels take place - Major Kudriashov
According to Major Rodion Kudriashov, the deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the primary challenge after reclaiming positions is demining
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation in our area of responsibility, as well as in the entire Bakhmut sector, is very dynamic. The fighting is going on every day. There is an artillery ping-pong with a large number of enemy artillery attacks. We are trying to build on the success we have gained over the past month. We have a certain initiative in our area of the frontline, we are well monitoring the enemy's actions," said the deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Rodion Kudriashov mentioned that the outcomes of operations cannot be disclosed at the moment due to ongoing measures being undertaken. However, he highlighted that there have already been panic-driven publications by Russian military personnel, commanders, and bloggers on this matter.
"The main problem after recapturing positions from the enemy is demining of these territories. The enemy is very skillful at mining both its front line and the positions it leaves behind. The large number of mines left by Russian troops is a big problem when our troops are consolidating or during assault operations. We clear the mines manually, which takes a lot of time, but it works well. This situation must be taken into account in all plans for future activities. The enemy is determined to hold onto the frontline through any means necessary. There is confirmed information that the enemy, in an attempt to maintain control of the frontline, is prepared to target their own military personnel who abandon their fortifications. This means that artillery fire, heavy equipment, and machine guns are used against units retreating from the frontline, compelling others to remain in positions behind," Kudryashov said.
