Settlements of Luhansk and Kherson regions fly Ukrainian flags purchased by 6-year-old boy
A 6-year-old volunteer boy Pavlo has raised UAH 12,000 by selling homemade cupcakes near churches to buy national flags for the border guards
Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
“Lviv border guards received national flags from a 6-year-old volunteer. The boy and his mother Khrystyna Hashenko-Kykot baked cupcakes every Saturday, and on Sundays the little volunteer sold them near churches. As a result, the boy sold about two hundred cupcakes, collecting over UAH 12,000,” the message says.
Pavlo handed over the collected funds to the Make a Dream Come True Charity Fund, whose volunteers cooperate with the Lviv border guardsmen, and bought the state flags.
After finding out who provided funds for charity, the border guards decided to thank the boy and invited him and his mother to the training of FC Rukh players and prepared small gifts for him. The athletes gave the boy a T-shirt with his name on it, and the young volunteer received a souvenir from the border guards.
“These state flags have been handed over to the military in the Luhansk and Kherson regions, and are already installed in populated areas liberated from the occupiers,” the deputy head of the personnel unit, Colonel Petro Zhovnych, said.
