Satellite images confirm explosion from inside Olenivka prison
Satellite images of the Olenivka prison offer further confirmation that the building, which housed Ukrainian prisoners of war, was blown up from the inside by the Russian forces themselves
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, wrote about this on Twitter, referring to the photos published by the American journalist Christopher Miller.
"The satellite images show that only one building was damaged. The prisoners of war were transferred there immediately before the attack. Analysis of the photo shows a thermobaric explosion from the inside. A strike? No, a terrorist attack", Podolyak commented on the "strike on Olenivka".
Miller showed four images from the Maxar satellite, which show how the colony in the occupied Olenivka looked before and after the terrorist attack - on July 27 and July 30.
The photos, dated July 30, clearly show that the tin roof of the barracks was torn off by an internal explosion, while the buildings around it remained intact.
"This is another proof that the building in Olenivka was not hit by a GMLRS M142 HIMARS missile", the international OSINT community InformNapalm noted.
As the investigators emphasize, there is no debris outside the building, which is impossible if an M31A1 or M31A2 missile hits the building.
"The M31 unitary warhead is optimized for blast effect and leaves a trail of explosions that rip meter-long chunks out of the steel rails of the railroad and throw them 100 meters into the air", the report said.
"No debris outside = no GMLRS detonation inside", InformNapalm emphasized.
