
War won’t be won by sanctions alone — but they’ll help Ukraine win it
The G7 summit takes place from June 15 to 17, with sanctions being a crucial issue for Ukraine
The EU has announced a reduction in the price cap on Russian oil and a ban on imports of products derived from it. This could seriously hurt Russia — if the U.S. joins in and if these measures are effectively enforced.
Graham’s bill is a valuable step toward making this happen. Naturally, the key decisions are being made in the White House.

Meanwhile, Brussels hints that it is coordinating closely with Washington.
As usual, the situation remains unpredictable.
Still, we must not lose faith in sanctions. They can inflict significant damage on Russia and deter it from continuing its aggression.
Russian propaganda invests heavily in convincing people that sanctions are ineffective.
That alone is reason enough for us to keep pushing for every possible — and even impossible — sanctions decision.
Yes, sanctions alone cannot win the war. But they can certainly help Ukraine’s Defense Forces achieve victory.
