Reuters reported the information.
The CEO stated that on June 30, Orlen’s last contract with Russia’s Rosneft ended, which had provided for the supply of Russian oil to the refinery in Litvínov, Czech Republic.
“We freed Central Europe from Russian oil today,” Fąfara said.
According to him, Czech refineries are now supplied with oil from, among others, the North Sea and the Mediterranean region, Saudi Arabia, South and North America, and Africa.
On June 29, U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said he had received approval from President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russian oil exports, which primarily go to India and China.
