
EU expands sanctions against Russia — European Commission President
The EU has approved sanctions against nearly 2,400 individuals and entities in response to Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine

This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on social media platform X.
"The EU is increasing pressure on Russia. We are expanding our sanctions to nearly 2,400 individuals and entities due to Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine," von der Leyen stated.
These sanctioned individuals are prohibited from traveling to the EU, and their assets will be frozen.
"Our determination to support Ukraine is decisive," emphasized the President of the European Commission.
- Espreso journalist Tetyana Vysotska reported that Hungary is not voting to extend individual sanctions against Russia, which are set to expire on March 15, 2025.
