Russia's UN representative opposes Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant demilitarization

Vasily Nebenzya, Russian representative to the UN, does not supported the creation of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP).

This is reported by the Russian Interfax service.

Nebenzya believes that Russia is also protecting the ZNPP from "possible terrorist attacks".

"The demilitarization of the station can make it vulnerable to those who want to visit it. No one knows what their goals and objectives will be. We cannot rule out any provocations, terrorist attacks on the station, which we must protect," Nebenzya said.

The permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN added in his comments to journalists that the head of the UN should explain what he means by the "demilitarization perimeter".
