Russia’s Su-25 fighter jet crashes into sea, killing pilot
A Su-25 attack aircraft has crashed into the Sea of Azov near Russia’s Yeysk in Krasnodar Krai, the pilot has ejected but later died

The fact that the attack aircraft crashed was confirmed by the Kuban operational headquarters. The crash occurred during a training flight. The preliminary cause was an aircraft engine failure.
At first, it was reported that the pilot had ejected and was retrieved from the water. Later local officials reported that he died.
- Yeysk lies on the northeastern arm of the Sea of Azov, about 45 km from the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine's Donetsk region on the opposite shore. Last October, a Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed into an apartment building in Yeysk, killing 14 people.
