Russia’s shelling of Kyiv during UN Secretary General Visit is further evidence of Russia's crimes In Ukraine – Davydyuk
Political sciences expert Mykola Davydyuk believes that Russia’s missile attacks on Kyiv during UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ visit are a vivid demonstration of Russia's ongoing crimes in Ukraine.
He expressed this opinion on air on Espreso TV.
"The missile attack on Kyiv and the continuing Russian presence in liberated settlements made it clear to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres what the Russian Federation is actually doing in Ukraine, that genocide is not just words used or political statements by the United States or Canada, but it is the reality inhabited by Ukrainian people today. I think this is one of the best demonstrations for a politician of the highest level in the world of exactly what Russia is committing here, of the crimes it is committing, and that there can be no justification for these crimes", Davydyuk said.
He added that the UN Secretary General, while in Borodyanka, said that he can imagine his children and grandchildren being there and understands that such a horror could happen at home, to him.
"Moscow reminded Mr Guterres what the Russian Federation is, when during his stay in Kyiv it began shelling residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital, when the Russian authorities began shelling civilians in Kyiv, even as the UN Secretary General was just leaving our country", Davydyuk noted.
