This was reported by Der Spiegel with reference to data from the German military counterintelligence service MAD.

According to intelligence information, Russian agents monitored the training of Ukrainians near the city of Idar-Oberstein, as well as near Grafenwöhr.

In Idar-Oberstein, Bundeswehr instructors taught Ukrainian soldiers how to use Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) self-propelled artillery systems, and in Grafenwöhr, US servicemen conducted classes on the use of US artillery systems.

After the training began, the German authorities noticed suspicious cars near military facilities in these cities. Also, small unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the training centers several times, filming military training.

The publication emphasizes that Russia's special services could gain access to the Ukrainians' mobile phones.
